the perfect store

I won't speculate on why David Gelertner seems so grumpy, but his review of Adam Cohen's capable (not done with it yet) hagiography of ebay is... well, it sucks. The book is bad, apparently, because it doesn't give credence (credit?) to Gelertner's own theory of the Future of the Internet. eBay has the last laugh: "0 items found for gelertner."

I once participated on the bitch-side of the mirror for a focus group on new ideas for interface design. It took me a little while to figure out that the man behind the curtain was none other than Mr. Mirror Worlds himself.

Somehow, that in particular spooked me. Not that someone was watching, but that it was him. Somehow I just knew. I knew.
