it is difficult for stories about michael jackson to shock anymore, but today's screamer -- Jackson dangles baby off balcony -- includes this soul-wrenching detail: "[Jackson's] close friend Uri Geller..." wtf?

Yeah, but to me the most wacko detail was that he held the/his baby over the balcony with ONE HAND because he was trying to keep the towel over his face with the other.
i'm not too worried about the one hand thing, as i'm sure uri was holding up the baby with his mind anyway.
They didn't show it very well in that particular picture, but he's grimacing has he holds the child, as if he's screaming something. (better photo)
Ugh, MJ is friends with the most screwed up people known to man. There must be this underground 'freak' club that the world isn't aware of. Basic requirements being: be freakish and be rich.
Correct me if I'm wrong but, uh, isn't he the founder of that club? I see it as a social experiment: what happens to humans when they contort their souls to achieve stardom, and the resulting grotesquerie engendered when that soul is allowed to gorge itself to incalculable proportions. What would you be like if everywhere you went fans threw themselves at you, you could buy basically anything you wanted, and, oh, you were still hyper-insecure and your inner child was screaming from some horrible inhumanity inflicted by your father who was programming you to be an entertainment machine from birth? I'd be dropping babies off balconies too. Maybe. Or at least covering their heads with red veils so as to ward off kidnappers.
