not what virginia woolf had in mind

snapshots from baghdad. Has anyone seen these (poster of) on the streets of NY?

I've seen the pictures up near the Flat iron/ Chelsea area. What struck me immediately was that it put a human (and humane) face on Iraq. When the Bush administration speaks of Collateral Damage, this is who they're refering to.

I applaud Amilie and Lytle for posting them. So the NYPD's thinking was that it is justified to put up signs for mLife and Cuervo Tequila, but not images of smiling women & children?

I'm saturated.

I am equally dumbfounded as to the legal justification for arresting these two. And I am developing a growing distaste for the NYPD in general after their behavior at yesterday's rally -- maybe the bile should be directed at Bloomberg?

I'm not typically a liberal rabble-rouser, but I felt oddly compelled to be, as one sign put it, "freezing my ass off for peace." I would have much rather had a debate of some sort, though, in true liberal fashion, looking at both sides.

I hear there are photos of New Yorkers plastered all over the caves in Tora Bora.

His Hirmes just proved the Bagdhad -- al Qaeda link?

Whoops, I meant the Ansar al-Islam base in Northern Iraq. Posters all over the damn place there. Of course they mostly just say "OBEY" and feature some sort of giant.
