Someone tell me what this means: Torrance has two separate, independent scrapbooking supply stores. I am sure this is significant. Discuss.

Something to do with a culture that has a surplus of time and money? And the audacity to invent stupid verbs? People's unflagging desire to make narratives out of their lives? It's all so very hokey and feminine, and full of nostalgia for the present.

Also, David: are you a spy? Nobody travels this much.

Part of it must be the technology. Seems those computer photo album programs make it almost impossible to display images in a simple way. A sort of forced scrapbook. With captions. And borders. And sound effects. Oh my.

I think it's as much to do with minimalls. But I have to think more about what that means, lest I seem simply an urban snob. Lest.
