Now I feel better

Bush: "God told me to strike at al Qaida and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East."

I'd like to think this blasphemy would hurt him in the polls, but I know better.

The only thing about this is that it's hearsay, and on top of that, it's an Israeli paper quoting Abbas talking about Bush. So, I don't know if the quotemarks hold that much water. On the other hand, I'd trust what Bush says off camera rather than his regularly scheduled mutilations of the English language.

There's a story on common dreams about the quote, and the part I snipped out. Good angry-liberal stuff.

I'm scared. I'm scared because a) I think Bush is perfectly capable of saying and believing that he heard the voice of God as he was choking on a pretzel (or as he saw his life flash before his eyes as he was thrown from his Segway) and b) there are many people in many red states in America that are perfectly fine with this notion of hearing the Voice of God, and on top of that, that King George here is God's chosen messenger.
