We Looked Like Giants

A lot of people have been asking what it was like to be in Japan. So here's DBrown adding milk to his coffee.

We were having breakfast at "Cafe Bach," an Austrian-themed restaurant. It was like that.

to note: it was a cafe, not a restaurant, and seemed to be open only from 10 am - 1 pm every day. It was our first real encounter with Japanese fetishism/perfectionism. There were 20 different coffees available, each 400-450 yen. I had "Ethiopian Washed." K. had "Kenya A." Mine was near-the-best cup of drip I'd ever tasted. There were about six drops of cream in the little creamer. The wooden chairs had "Cafe Bach" carved into them in an odd, off version of Fraktur. (Is that what it's called?) Very Edo-Gothic.
