Not Every Country
Ben, my oldest friend in the world, runs iGavel, which is an excellent fine art auction site. I bring it up because they're running an auction of Vintage Propaganda of Chairman Mao and the Cultural Revolution. It's pretty great all around, but I keep eyeing the Pro-Vietcong Plaques made from Wreckage of US Aircraft.
It turns out that not every country appreciates the presence of the U.S. military.

also, I don't know if I'll spend money (it's a lot) on that thing, but dibs. All I'm saying is, dibs.
I own one of these Mao textiles, if anyone needs to get a mao fix. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Beautiful in a weird sort of way, but still get the chills when I see that portrait of the Chairman, one of the craziest Mofo's of the 20th Century. He almost completely wiped Chinese culture from the face of the Earth out of envy.
"But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow."
Agree with your point about America's delusional belief in our Manifest Destiny.
